    The scene was captured on video at The Reptile Zoo in Fountain Valley as keeper Juliette Brewer, who is the zoo owner’s daughter, was grooming the animal.

    Ms Brewer said: ‘As you can see she’s an albino so you can see she has all kinds of algae around her so what I do is give her a little bit of a bath and just scrub her.

    ‘And look at her, she just loves it!’

    Alligators can be born albino if they lack the pigment melanin, making them appear white in colour.

    Yet because this makes them easy to spot they are usually eaten by predators at an early age, meaning albino alligators are amongst some of the rarest form of the species in the world.
