Boba Fett is back! The Mandalorian spinoff about the Star Wars bounty hunter sets a December premiere date as a first poster is shared
Disney announced Wednesday that its highly anticipated series The Book Of Boba Fett will premiere before the year is up.
La serie, a spin-off of The Mandalorian, will be arriving on the streaming service Disney+ starting on December 29.
Disney marked the news by sharing the first poster for the series, which features the iconic Guerre stellari bounty hunter seated on the throne that once belonged to Jabba the Hutt.

Boba Fett was first introduced in 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back, before being unceremoniously dispatched in its follow-up, 1983’s Return Of The Jedi.
But the character made a surprising return in Disney+’s hit series The Mandalorian, which follows the travels of a bounty hunter who wears similar armor.
Disney has revealed few details about the new series aside from what was seen in a post-credits scene in The Mandalorian’s season two finale.
After joining forces with fellow bounty hunter Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Fett and Shand were seen returning to the desert planet of Tatooine to take over the remnants of Jabba the Hutt’s criminal empire.
The short clip concluded with Fett dramatically taking a seat on Jabba’s throne, which was featured in the new poster.

Playing Fett will be Temuera Morrison, who joined the Star Wars universe in the prequel Attack Of The Clones (2002).
Confusingly, he originally played the mercenary Jango Fett, who was cloned to provide an army of Stormtroopers.
Boba Fett, another clone of Jango, was introduced as a child in that film, though Morrison now plays a grizzled and scarred version of the character in The Mandalorian and his new spinoff.
Wen made her debut as Shand in The Mandalorian’s first season, when she was seemingly killed, though Fett later resuscitated her.
The Book Of Boba Fett will be executive produced by The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and its EPs Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson.
Director Robert Rodriguez, who helmed a season two episode of The Mandalorian, also joins as an executive producer.

Disney+ appears to be going all-in on live-action Star Wars shows.
Ewan McGregor will once again play the Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in a solo series named after the character after playing him in all three prequel films.
Following her debut in The Mandalorian season two, Rosario Dawson will lead a new series as the Jedi Ahsoka Tano, while Diego Luna will star in the series Andor, which takes place five years prior to the events of Rogue One.
Disney is also developing a Lando Calrissian series from director Justin Simien and The Acolyte from Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland.
