It will be the first time the Monarch has met the Prime Minister’s 16-month-old son and the first time both Mr and Mrs Johnson have visited Balmoral in more than two years.
The couple last visited the Queen’s royal retreat in 2019. Their trip last year was cancelled due to Covid.
Despite both Mr Johnson and the 95-year-old Monarch both being double vaccinated, courtiers reportedly raised concerns about the meeting.
However one courtier earlier this week told the Daily Mail: ‘They have taken all Covid precautions and it will be very safe.’
