    Maddy Lawrence, who played wing for the University of the West of England’s Women Rugby team in Bristol, passed away on Friday.

    The club paid tribute to Maddy in an Instagram的 post yesterday, 写作: ‘Whenever she smiled and laughed you couldn’t help but smile and laugh with her.

    They are retiring her number 11 shirt number as a mark of respect and will hold a fundraiser later this week to pay for her funeral.

    ‘Maddy was a bubbly girl who was so fun to be around. Whenever she smiled and laughed you couldn’t help but smile and laugh with her.

    ‘That was the sort of player, 朋友, sister and daughter Maddy was.

    ‘Her everlasting energy has left its mark on this club, she will forever be our number 11 and will forever be our friend.

    ‘We will be retiring the number 11 shirt in Maddy’s honour and remembrance. Rest in peace our beautiful girl.

    The passing comes seven years after 23-year-old Lily Partridge, who played for Exonian Ladies in Topsham, 德文郡, collapsed and died after suffering a head injury during a training match in December 2015.

    And Sarah Chesters, 23, was playing for her ladiesrugby team in October 2014 when she was tackled and died from catastrophic brain injuries over a month later, an inquest heard at the time.
