One woman with ginger hair and a hat starts the recording by saying: ‘Yo, you guys got a package at your door’, before picking it up and gesturing to the camera.

Her friend commentates on the entire exchange in the background, reiterating they have no intention of stealing the delivery.

The first girl continues: ‘We’ve come to get it, so nobody takes it, which I will hide for you in your mail box.

But unbeknownst to the philanthropic pair, the couple living in the home were on vacation for a weekmeaning their package would have been left unattended and potentially snatched by ‘porch pirates’.

Again making their intentions painstakingly clear as she approaches the camera, the first woman shouts: ‘The package is in your mail box!’

And as they peel away from the front door, the second woman adds: ‘Ok. We put your package in the mail box. Peace out, I love your house. It’s a great house and reminds me of Mexico.

The phrase porch pirates was popularized across North America in recent years in response to rising instances of brazen thieves stealing online deliveries that are left outside a homeowner’s front door.

With the onset of the Covid pandemic, internet orders skyrocketed, meaning there have been more chances for opportunistic criminals to steal unattended goods.

More often than not, doorcam footage of porch pirates shows shameless crooks attempt to steal from their neighbours.

As they peel away from the front door, the second woman adds: 'Ok. We put your package in the mail box. Peace out, I love your house. It's a great house and reminds me of Mexico'

But in posting his clip on social media, @chenryhinaski was delighted to see the generosity of the Canadians on full-display, and coined an interesting new term.

He shared the clip to Reddit with the title: ‘My parents are away this week. They got hit byreverse porch pirates”‘.

And the young women’s goodwill certainly sparked an outpouring of positivity in the majority of comments shared online.

June Berry wrote: ‘It’s nice to see people doing good for a change! Way to go ladies!’

Speaking about the pair’s actions, @Asidal said: ‘They’re so nice; I wish more people were like them.

Another user added: ‘Wow the world needs more of this.
