Horror bridge crash kills boys, 13 and 17: Seriously injured driver, 16, is arrested after BMW smash in early hours of morning
Two teenage boys have been killed and a seriously injured 16-year-old driver arrested after a horror bridge crash in the early hours of the morning.
The two boys, 13 and 17, were passengers in a blue BMW 320 which left the road and smashed into a bridge on the A16 near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, at 12.50am on Saturday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the two teenagers were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with life threatening injuries.
They died in hospital on Monday, police have confirmed.
The driver of the BMW, 16, was also rushed to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. He has been arrested in connection with the fatal crash.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: ‘Two teenagers have died following a single vehicle collision in Peterborough.
‘Sadly, the two passengers, from Peterborough, died in hospital yesterday.

A bottle of Smirnoff Ice and Corona was also among the tributes at the scene, as police confirmed today a 16-year-old boy has been arrested
‘The driver, also from Peterborough, has been arrested in connection with the collision and remains in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
‘Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle in the moments leading up to it, or anyone who has relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.’
