为复活节干杯! Drinkers make the most of the four-day weekend as they hit city centres for booze-fuelled nights out dressed as bunnies and bull fighters

  • Revellers flocked to nightclubs and bars around the country last night to celebrate a boozy four-day Easter weekend on the town.

    Photos from Newcastle showed partygoers sporting a variety of zany outfits, from a man in priest get up to bullfighters at a corrida de toros.

    After a Saturday of widespread warmth with the hottest temperatures of the year so far from southern England all the way to northern Scotland, clubbers turned out in T-shirts and skimpy outfits to enjoy a sultry night.

    The celebrations contrast markedly with those of the past two years, when festive sprits were dampened by Covid laws.

    But with virus fears largely subsided, merry revellers crowded the streets around the country as they drank, 跳舞, sang and chatted.

    In recognition of the Easter holiday, plenty of bunny ears were on show.

    Rabbits, due to their high reproduction rates, became linked with Pagan celebrations of spring and fecundity after the passing of wintry weather.

    As morning breaks, last night’s drinkers will be nursing a hangover and wincing against the continuing bright skies forecast for Easter Sunday.

    In the far west, it will be cloudier for most of the day, with rain over western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
