Fire crews have been called out to Londra‘s Trafalgar Square, as thick black smoke could be seen coming from a pub in the city centre, as people and a dog were evacuated from the building before the emergency services arrived.

London Fire Brigade said on social media: ‘We’ve got 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackling a fire in a pub in Trafalgar Square.
‘A number of people were evacuated from the pub and surrounding businesses before the Brigade arrived.’
Station Commander Keith McDermott, who is at the scene said: ‘Half of the basement is alight.
‘As a result there will be heavy traffic disruption and we ask people to avoid the area if possible.’
Other clips being shared from the scene show police officers moving people back and extending the police cordon in the area.
Crews were called out at 5.49pm. It is not clear what caused the fire.
