Fourteen security staff working at Croydon NHS hospital are arrested after ‘sharing CCTV footage of themselves roughing up members of the public’
Fourteen security staff at an NHS hospital have been arrested after allegedly sharing CCTV footage of themselves being over-forceful with members of the public.
Scotland Yard said its detectives were investigating the ‘improper use of CCTV’ by contractors working in security for Croydon University Hospital in South 런던.
Police revealed they found the footage on a mobile phone while investigating an ‘unrelated matter’, and all 14 arrested people have been bailed until June.
Officers also said today that the footage shows ‘interactions between security and members of the public on hospital grounds where force was used’.
The hospital, which had security provided by a firm called ICT Secure, has now appointed an interim in-house security team led by its security manager.

서울지방경찰청 대변인은: ‘Officers from the South Area Safeguarding Unit are investigating the improper use of CCTV by contracted workers, who provide security services at Croydon University Hospital.
‘The investigation was launched after CCTV recordings were found on an individual’s phone as officers were making enquiries about an unrelated matter.

No staff directly employed by Croydon Health Services NHS Trust are involved in the investigation, which only relates to those employed by ICT Secure.

A Croydon Health Services NHS Trust spokesman said: ‘On May 12 we were informed of an ongoing police investigation regarding a number of individuals employed by ICT Secure, who provide security services to the Trust.
‘We are co-operating fully with this investigation. An interim security team have been appointed, headed by our in-house Security Manager, to ensure we can continue to protect the safety of our patients and our staff.’
The Care Quality Commission said it is also involved in the investigation with the trust and police.
A spokesman told MailOnline: ‘CQC is aware and we are working with the trust and local police who are investigating individuals employed by a company to provide security services at Croydon University Hospital.
‘Our priority is the safety of people using services and quality of care they receive.
‘If we find evidence to indicate that people are at risk we will always follow this up and take appropriate regulatory action if necessary to keep people safe.’
