Ghislaine Maxwell is a 'master manipulator' says Epstein accuser

Ghislaine Maxwell is a ‘master manipulator’ says woman who accused Epstein of sexually assaulting her when she was 22

  • Teresa Helm says Jeffrey Epstein sexually assaulted her in 2002 when she was 22
  • She claims Ghislaine Maxwell had approached her about a massage therapist job
  • Helm flew to New York where Maxwell is said to have introduced her to Epstein at his ‘fortress-like’ townhouse
  • Helm claims he then sexually assaulted her during foot massage – causing her to flee and never speak to either Maxwell or Epstein again
  • Maxwell is currently on trial over role in Epstein’s crimes and had pleaded not guilty to all six charges against her
  • A Jeffrey Epstein accuser has called Ghislaine Maxwell a ‘master manipulator’ over claims she lured her into his New York townhouse so he could assault her.

Teresa Helm said she was approached by the ‘polite’ socialite about a job as a massage therapist in 2002, when she was 22.

The Ohio woman, now 41, ‘immediately felt comfortable’ around Maxwell and was excited to fly to New York for the ‘dream’ job interview.

But in an unexpected twist, Helm claims she was introduced to Maxwell’s ‘partner’ Epstein, who during a foot massage sexually assaulted her.

Helm is not a part of Maxwell’s ongoing trial in New York, where she faces six counts including sex trafficking and conspiracy. She denies the charges.

‘I really felt that I was in a home of a woman who was educated and successful,’ Helm told the BBC of meeting Maxwell at her New York townhouse.

Helm said that in an initial meeting she performed a massage on Maxwell, who she thought was the intended client.

It is claimed Maxwell ‘fell asleep’ halfway, leading Helm to think ‘it’s going really well’.

However, Helm says she was later told about a ‘second part’ of the interview where she would meet Epstein at his own townhouse on the Upper East Side.

Helm claims that before going to meet Epstein, Maxwell told her: ‘”You know, make sure that you give Jeffrey what he wants, because Jeffrey always gets what he wants”.’

‘If it were not for her I would never have got myself to the home of a predator,’ Helm added.

‘Now I know for certain this is part of the tactic of a master manipulator.’

Helm’s claims are not a part of Maxwell’s ongoing trial in New York, which is now in its third full day.

She was however one of five women to sued Epstein’s estate in Federal District Court in Manhattan in 2019, months after his death.

The filing accused the billionaire pedophile of rape, battery and false imprisonment and is seeking unspecified damages.

The lawsuit stated: ‘As Teresa was studying massage at the California Healing Arts College, this seemed like a dream opportunity, but her hopes were dashed when it quickly turned into sexual assault.’

The six charges against Ghislaine Maxwell:

    THE CHARGES

Conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts (5 years max sentence)

Enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts (20 years)

Conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity (20 years)

Transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity (10 years minimum, life maximum)

    Sex Trafficking Conspiracy

    Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Ghislaine Maxwell also faces two charges of perjury but those counts are due to be tried after her sex crimes trial.

The charges relate to testimony she gave in 2016 in a defamation case filed against her by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre.

    THE ‘FACTS’

Prosecutors say Maxwell groomed three girls between 1994 and 1997 for Epstein.

They are not named in the indictment, but she allegedly targeted them in London, Florida, New York and New Mexico.

Maxwell, it is alleged, would befriend the girls by asking them about their life and their schooling. She would put them at ease by taking them to the movies and taking them shopping, winning their trust to later deliver them to Epstein, it’s alleged.

To ‘normalize’ the abuse that would come later, prosecutors say she undressed in front of the girls herself and asked them sexual questions.

She then not only facilitated Epstein abusing them, prosecutors say, but took part in some of it herself.

The alleged sex abuse includes ‘sexualized group massages’.

The indictment also says Maxwell made the girl feel ‘indebted’ to Epstein by encouraging them to take money from him and let him pay for their education and travel.
