夫, 71, ‘saw red’ before stabbing his 74-year-old wife to death in her bed as they argued about money ahead of their divorce, 裁判所は聞く
A husband confessed how he ‘saw red’ before stabbing his wife in bed during an argument about money in which he had armed himself with two knives ahead of their divorce, 裁判所は聞いた.
David Maggs, 71, had been divorced twice before his 18-year marriage to mother-of-two Linda Maggs also ended.
The 71-year-old has admitted killing Linda, 74, at their home in Sebastopol, Pontypool in South Wales on February 6 昨年, but denies murdering her.
As the trial continued, jurors heard Maggs ‘resented’ his wife ahead of their divorce – after believing he was going to lose out financially in their split.
He told police that he went into his wife’s room to talk to her carrying two large knives with him from the kitchen draw.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that after killing his wife retired businessman Maggs was arrested for murder and admitted to officers he had stabbed her.

‘I went up and things got out of hand and there’s one ultimately to blame but I am responsible, I am not getting out of that, I am responsible. I lost it, I completely lost it.
‘She started shouting and as soon as she shouted shouting there won’t be no reasoning with her. I then went blank but I know I was responsible, I was there, I was responsible.
‘I did see red and she wouldn’t listen and that’s all I can say.

Asked about the stabbing itself, Maggs said he couldn’t remember what had happened.

Prosecutor Michael Jones QC said ‘controlling’ Maggs ‘wholly resented’ his wife due to their upcoming divorce.
Mr Jones said: ‘He was particularly agitated by the financial settlement of the divorce and believed he was going to significantly lose out to his wife.
‘He accused her of taking advantage of him financially and of hiding her own money away.
‘He thought she stood to gain financially and in his mind in a dishonest way.’
Mr Jones said the couple’s divorce was due to be granted in March 2021.

Jurors were told they had remained living together but apart within their £200,000 marital home when Linda was killed on February 6.
Mr Jones said Maggs went to his wife’s bedroom and ‘viciously and repeatedly stabbed her to the neck, パメラアンダーソンのコメディセントラルローストのアフターパーティーで, stomach and arms.’
Maggs dialled 999 after stabbing Linda telling an operator: ‘I just killed the wife.’
Mr Jones said police attended the house and saw Maggs in the downstairs living room walking towards them.
