Amazing moment Japanese soccer team DANCE together for brilliant free-kick routine…which ends in a goal!

  • Team Takagawa Gakuen from Yamaguchi prefecture executed a unique free kick
  • They pulled it off in Japan’s 100th National High School Soccer Tournament
  • They beat Star Ridge of Ishikawa prefecture 4-2 in the tournament’s first round
  • After seeing the success of this free-kick in a Japanese high school game, don’t be too surprised if you see premier league clubs trying to recreate this set piece on New Year’s Day.

The Takagawa Gakuen team from Yamaguchi pulled off the stunning move in their match today against the Star Ridge team of Ishikawa at the Nippatsu Mitzusawa stadium in Yokohama.

After a Takagawa Gakuen player was fouled down the right flank, a group of attackers formed a circle on the other side of the box, holding hands and dancing around as their team-mate lined up the free kick.

The Star Ridge players were completely befuddled, with the defence in total disarray as the players lined up with no idea what to expect from the set piece.

Just as the kick-taker began his run up, the circle suddenly dispersed, with the attackers sprinting towards the goal in all directions with perfect timing and sending the defence into a confused frenzy.

The ball was whipped in towards the back post and was beautifully headed in to cap off a move that was cute and effective in equal measure.

Takagawa Gakuen went on to win the game 4-2 and will progress to the second round of Japan’s 100th annual National High School Soccer Tournament.
