Man who owns ‘Britain’s most haunted doll’ linked to unexplained happenings dating back 70 years says her ‘eyes move’ and she’s been captured ‘rocking in a chair’ on CCTV
A man who runs a haunted museum in Stoke on Trent has claimed to be the proud owner of the UK’s most haunted doll, known as scary Mary – as well as a host of other possessed artefacts.
Craig appeared on ITV’s This Morning to discuss scary Mary, who he adopted last year and dates back to 1951.
‘As soon as we had her she started being active in our room,’ Craig explained, speaking to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. ‘She’s been seen many times on CCTV where the chair has span from side to side, the chair has rocked, her eyes have moved and she’s thrown herself out of chair on two different occasions.’
He continued: ‘She lights up lights around the equipment sometimes that she likes to play with.

Craig went on to show viewers a few of the other artefacts in the museum – including a coffin which was donated to them last year by a local lady (pictured)
‘We’ve had four members of the public on a tour here and she was actually on the table in the centre of the room and she was rocking in front of them.
Another three ladies were having a tour and they actually witnessed her eyes move all the way over to the right. She’s amazing and a great artefact and one of the best I’ve had in all my years of doing this.’
When presenter Holly asked whether he ever gets scared of her – especially when she lived at his house during the pandemic, Craig replied: ‘Sometimes it can feel a little bit untoward but most of the time we feel quite comfortable with Mary’s energy that’s around.

‘Originally this came from her pub which was a haunted pub. It was donated by a local undertaker who had it in storage for years and years. It was used in the world war to bring fallen soldiers’ bodies back into the United Kingdom.
There’s over a thousand bodies which have been documented to have been in that coffee. We have a lot of bangs and scratches around the coffin. People that sand by it get icy cold and different points.’

He then went on to show viewers a Victorian pram which he has had in his possession for over ten years.
‘In many live feeds, this pram has been seen to be moving forward and backwards of its own accord. This has happened about 8 or 9 times in the last year.’
During the show, Craig explained that it was actually his grandfather who started him off down this paranormal path.
‘Yes, he did indeed, many years ago when I was 10-years-old,’ said Craig. ‘Shortly after my grandfather had passed we felt his energy around and could smell the tobacco smoke from his pipe. I was intrigued from a very early age within the paranormal activity.’
Craig, who claims his house growing up was haunted, explained: ‘The house we lived in was very, very active. It was quite a large house, it had a couple of large landings downstairs and it had a big old cellar.

‘My dad, particularly as well, would be sitting on the end of his bed and would proclaim to be talking to his auntie who passed a couple of years ago as well.
‘There was a lot of strange circumstances in that house that had you thinking what else was around with you at the time.’
In his twenties, Craig and two of his other friends decided to go around the UK to different locations and see what paranormal activity they could pick up on – before he then stared his own paranormal events company.
Speaking of the weirdest supernatural thing he has ever experience, Craig explained: ‘In 2015, we went to Mill Street Barracks, myself and there were 20 other guests on this event – it was for an external event’s company.
‘I was the guest medium on the night. We saw a lady there and the only words I can use to describe her is that she seemed to be possessed by something.
He continued: ‘It was witnessed by everyone on that night and she even comes on our page now and interacts with members of the public and tells them in her own words what happened and her experiences with that.
‘It was a pretty scary thing to witness. You see these things in movies and on TV but when you’re actually there to experience someone who is actually overtaken by something it’s quite scary.’
