Many drivers in the UK will struggle to transition to electric cars due to a lack of off-road parking, as a new study reveals that the West Midlands will face the steepest uphill battle.

But for those living in the Midlands, the answer may not be so simple.
The latest from data analytics firm Outra shows the best to worst regions in terms of off-road parking, highlighting the struggles faced by a majority of drivers in the Midlands when they begin to switch to electric cars.
Paired with the lack of suitable infrastructure, Midlands motorists are more likely to see increased costs to charge their electric vehicles on the road, 谢谢 20 per cent VAT charge and the inability to charge cars in the evening when the cost of electricity is lower.
With the lowest availability of off-road parking, residents in the Midlands will be reliant on the public charging network to recharge their EVs than anywhere else in the UK.

The results showed only 45 per cent of car-owning properties in the West Midlands have capacity to store a car off-road, followed closely by East Midlands with just over 50 百分.
