  • Kathy Manning, who was named Miss 미시시피 에 1984, died from complications of COVID on at the age of 59 after battling the virus for weeks.

    She died December 23 in Collierville, 테네시, leaving behind three adult children, Robert Edwin Loeb, Anne Hensley Loeb, and Jackson Manning Loeb. Manning was divorced.

    It is unclear whether or not she was fully vaccinated. She has not commented publicly on COVID or the vaccine.

    She was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi May 28, 1962. Through her teenage and young adult years, she was known as ‘Mississippi’s Sweetheart,’ 그녀에 따르면 사망 기사.

    Manning competed in the state Miss Mississippi competition in 1984, while studying at Ole Miss. She went on to win the preliminary swimsuit contest and became the second runner-up in the Miss America contest. Manning also was Miss Mississippi USA 1984 and a Miss USA semi-finalist.

    Manning, whose married name was Loeb, graduated the university with a degree in psychology. While at the university, she joined Delta Gamma sorority.

    The former pageant queen toured with the USO, and worked as a weather reporter at a local station in Memphis, a model and as a Christian recording artist and singer.

    According to her obituary, once she moved to Memphis, Tennessee ‘many people viewed her as the heart of the city.

    Long after her pageant years, she remained active in philanthropy, working with many charities, including the Memphis Humane Society, Alzheimer’s Day Care Centers, Palmer Home for Children, Crisis Center and Orpheum Memphis.

    The mother of three is remembered by loved ones as ‘someone who loved to connect with people from many different walks of life – and really get to know them for who they are and what brought them joy.

    Beyond her love of people, friends also noted her love of the rock band KISS, animals and Christianity.

    Manning will be buried in a private ceremony in Memphis on Thursday. Her family has not responded to DailyMail.com for a comment.
