This is the hilarious moment a woman was showered in pink powder when a confetti cannon birthday surprise went wrong.

Footage filmed in Camden, Tennessee, op Januarie 10, shows a woman identified only as Susan standing in front of her birthday cake as her family sing Happy Birthday.

As she tries to film the cake on her phone, her husband and son are preparing to surprise her by firing confetti cannons.

Husband Marcus can be seen behind Susan struggling to fire the cannon, while her 12-year-old son is off-camera on the right.

As they finish singing Susan turns towards her family and says ‘Don’t..’ as she spots the party cannons.

Before she can finish her sentence to say: ‘Don’t do it in the house..’ her son fires the cannon, showering Susan with pink powder.

Her husband then shouts: ‘O my god, it’s not confetti,’ as it dawns on the family that they have bought gender reveal powder cannons that are supposed to be used outdoors.

The footage has gone viral, met meer as 57,000 views on YouTube, where one viewer joked: 'Baie geluk, it’s a girl!’
