    Initially the mum, 谁要求保持匿名, thought she’d been targeted by a burglary trick where items of food are smeared on doorsteps to test if people are on holiday.

    But CCTV footage allegedly appears to show a group of teenagers gathering on her front porch before running away laughing.

    Police are said to be investigating the incident.

    ‘My front door and porch were smeared with baked beans, spaghetti hoops, and chopped tomatoes last week, it was just horrific,’ 她说, speaking to the M.E.N.

    ‘Bizarrely they also left camping stools.

    ‘It made me feel absolutely awful. Me and my daughter were quite

    scared because we thought it was one of those burglary tricks.

    ‘I had to ask my neighbours to help me clean up the mess because I couldn’t even step outside my front door.

    The ‘beaningprank involves youngsters smearing bakes beans onto people’s driveways, doors and carsand filming it.

    ‘During the course of the afternoon neighbours started giving me more information about people running off my porch laughing so I thought it probably wasn’t a burglary trick,’ the mum said.

    ‘We got the CCTV footage and it turns out it was a group of teenagers who had been at a party down the road and it was a prank.

    ‘Initially I was scared but then the anger set in.

    Numerous videos have been posted on social media with the hashtag beanbanditz.

    The messy craze, which is also potentially harmful to dogs, prompted one local police force to issue a warning to retailers and parents.

    Shops have been urged to look out for children buying large quantities of the tinned goods, while parents are being encouraged to check their cupboards.
