    Creative Taryn de Vere, from Donegal, County Donegal, 爱尔兰, got the idea to dress up every day of the month after staying home so much over 圣诞 to avoid high Covid numbers.

    After first dressing up as a sink unblocker, the mother-of-five, who works in communications and social media management, is now determined to brighten up the ‘dreary monthwith a range of different and fun homemade outfits.

    She vowed not to buy anything new for each outfit, 加: ‘I generally try and create outfits that I could wear all day if I wanted to, though some of the headwear is a bit cumbersome to wear all day, especially the ones I create to look like bottle caps.

    Taryn said she came up with the idea to try and make January a little less ‘grim.

    她补充说: ‘I took January off work this year, after working for two years without a break, to focus on some creative activities.

    ‘Given Omicron’s prevalence, I decided that I would avoid people as much as possible for January in an effort to keep myself and my family safe.

    ‘Facing into the prospect of being house-bound for a month I decided I’d set myself the challenge of dressing as something in my house each day for the month.

    ‘At the time I came up with the idea I was sitting on my bed and my eye alighted on a bottle of sink unblocker in the ensuite, so that became the inspiration for the first outfit.

    Her first outfit was a sink unblocker and after building up a large following she said things had just grown from there.

    至今, the mum-of-five has also appeared as a tube of toothpaste, an Always pad and a carton of milk.

    她说: ‘I’m not allowed to buy anything for an outfit is my only rule.

    ‘It has expanded my ideas of what I can do with the clothes I already haveI feel like I’ve got a new creative lease on life!

    ‘I’ve been overwhelmed by the response to this project, people tell me the first thing they do in the morning is check my Instagram to see what I’m wearing and that it has brightened up their lives.

    ‘Life’s a bit dark at the moment with everyone experiencing a very similar reality, and this is one bit of joy and light that people can rely on everyday.

    ‘This whole project has really opened up my mind, and I think it has tapped into something for many people that inspiration is everywhere, and they too can take inspiration in different places and wear their clothes in unique ways.

    On the last day of the month Taryn is encouraging people from around the world to dress up as an item from their household and post their outfits online using the #Objectdresschallenge.

    Taryn said: ‘I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone’s outfits and in February I’m going to continue the challenge, but will be dressing as objects in other people’s houses!’
