Olivia Culpo gets asked to 'put a blouse' before boarding flight

Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo slams American Airlines after staff branded her sports bra and biker shorts ‘inappropriate’ and threatened to bar her from her flight if she didn’t ‘put on a blouse’

  • The 29-year-old model and influencer revealed on Thursday that she was told by American Airlines staff to cover up or risk not being allowed onto her flight
  • Culpo was left speechless when a gate agent gave her an ultimatum to ‘put a blouse’ or ‘not get on the plane’ to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
  • Her older sister Aurora, who was traveling with Culpo and her NFL star boyfriend Christian McCaffrey, posted a video of the model’s look on Instagram
  • Aurora filmed her sister showing off her athleisure ensemble – a black sports bra, black biker shorts, and a long black cardigan – saying, ‘she looks appropriate’
  • Culpo reposted the video on her own Instagram Stories, where she slammed American Airlines saying: ‘I’m confused… is this inappropriate/offensive?’
  • American Airlines has very limited guidance and regulations about passenger dress codes, saying simply that you must ‘dress appropriately’ for a flight
  • It adds on its website that ‘bare feet or offensive clothing aren’t allowed’ but fails to include specific examples of what it deems to be ‘offensive’ or ‘inappropriate’
