A paramedic and a firefighter who met while driving ambulances during the pandemic are expecting a baby.
Lauren Biffen, 31, and Martin Green, 42, from Shepton Mallet, Somerset, instantly hit it off amid Covid in June 2020.
Mr Green went down on one knee under their Kersfees lights last year, and Ms Biffen said ‘yes’.
They moved into their new home in March, and although they have not organised their wedding yet, they are expecting their first child in April.

Sy het gese: ‘We’re over the moon. It’s so exciting. I can’t wait to see Martin as a dad because I just know that he’s going to be awesome.
‘He’s so dedicated it’s all I can do to stop him painting baby’s room after a 20-hour shift.
‘I’m also a bit nervous, and being a paramedic you are aware of all the things that can go wrong.’
Ms Biffen and Mr Green explained they suffered two miscarriages this year, and are holding off their wedding until baby can join the celebrations.
Hy het gesê: ‘We don’t live in a perfect world and it was a very difficult time for us, but we don’t take anything for granted and we’re grateful that we are able to conceive and have a child together.

‘Lauren’s such an amazing person and she’s going to be the most amazing mum.
‘She has such a fantastic positive outlook on life, it’s one of the things I love about her so much.’
The new baby is also joining two cats, Sam and Lola, and six-year-old springer spaniel Henry in April.
Mr Green volunteered to drive ambulances for Southwest Ambulance Service, where Ms Biffen works, in April 2020, and is still helping out.

She admired how fastidiously he checked over the ambulances and he was drawn to her caring spirit.
Ms Biffen is working in the offices while pregnant, but the couple still meet up at work for lunch.
Sy het gese: ‘He’s such an open and fun person: he made days that would usually be stressful or emotionally draining so much easier.
‘I think I told him my whole life story in two hours.’
Hy het bygevoeg: ‘I knew immediately Lauren is just one in a million: there’s something very special about her. It’s a stressful and tiring job, but we make it easier together.’
