Among the list of paranormal hotspots, compiled by Goodbye Car, is ‘The Devil’s Highway’ near Bolton and Blue Bell Hill in Kent, where the tragic death of three young women in the 60s sparked rumours of ghosts haunting the area.
Elsewhere the police have recorded calls from drivers that describe having run over an old man in a tweed suit who they claim was crossing the road. But after going out to check, the man was nowhere to be seen.

Despite the bride-to-be dying in hospital days later, many believe that her ghost haunts the road, with spiritual believers often gathering outside the Lower Bell pub nearby.
Sedertdien, the woman has been spotted wearing her extravagant wedding dress, veil and all, standing by the side of the road waiting for a lift – with some eye witnesses claiming to have let a woman inside their car only for her to disappear completely soon after.

When construction was underway back in 1988, two security guards reported that they saw some young children playing right in the centre of the construction site, claiming the children disappeared without a trace as the guards approached them, with no signs of footprints.
