Russian diplomat connected to FSB intelligence is found dead ‘after falling from upper window of Berlin embassy’
The 35-year-old, who served as the second secretary of the embassy since 2019, was found lifeless outside the building on October 19 around 7.20am by guards, with news of his death first published today.
Medics were rushed to the scene but were unable to revive the man. He is believed to have fallen from the top floor of the building in what the embassy described today as a ‘tragic accident’.

But no official cause of death has been established because the embassy refused an autopsy. Because the man was a diplomat on embassy grounds, the public prosecutor has no authority to carry out an investigation.
The diplomat’s body was returned to Russia the following day according to Der Spiegel, which was first to report the news.
Germany’s foreign ministry has confirmed the death after the news became public, but said it would not comment further due to ‘privacy reasons’.
