Skid Row frontman Johnny Solinger has died at the age of 55, just a month after telling fans he had liver failure.
The musician’s bandmates confirmed the sad news that the 55-year-old singer had died in a Facebook post today.

Mr Solinger, who rose to fame as Skid Row’s lead singer when the band reformed in 1999, shared the news of his devastating diagnosis in May.

‘I have been hospitalised for over the last month. I have been diagnosed with liver failure. And prognosis is not so good.

‘As with most musicians I do not have health insurance and it’s very difficult to get proper care without it.’
He had had to resort to setting up a fundraising page to cover the medical expenses.
An update on his health was added to the fundraising page just days before his death was announced.
Brian Lawrence, who organised the fundraising, geskryf het: ‘He will get a new catheter for dialysis, the blood clot in his leg taken care of and a vessel in his heart fixed.

‘All these procedures have risks. But they need to be done in order for him to be a candidate, so of course I consented to them.’
He signed off the update with: ‘I know he wants to live, and thankfully I have total trust in the team taking care of him. They are truly doing everything humanly possible to save his life.
‘One big step today. We’ve got his. He’s got this.’
The vocalist previously said that he was on ‘at least seven different medications’ and needed to have fluid drained from his abdomen ‘every couple of days’.
Mr Solinger became the front man of Skid Row three years after the band split following the departure of Sebastian Bach.
He featured on two of the band’s albums, Thickskin in 2003 and Revolutions Per Minute in 2006, and two EP’s, 2013’s United World Rebellion and Rise of the Damnation Army in 2014, before leaving the band himself in April 2015 to be replaced with TNT singer Tony Harnell, who quit himself eight months later.
