An obese woman has ditched her sofa slob lifestyle and now looks unrecognisable.
Emily Nuttall, 21, ランカシャーから, weighed 20st 5lbs last April, thanks to eating multiple bags of sweets per day, combined with sugary drinks and pastries, which amounted to over 7,000 calories.
After being teased for being the ‘fat friend’ throughout school, Emily’s confidence was at an all time low before starting her degree in childhood & youth studies with criminology.

Before her weight loss, Emily was a self-confessed ‘sofa slob’ and would eat 7,000 calories a day, including sweets, chocolate and sugary drinks
彼女は言いました: ‘I was always seen as the ‘fat friend’ at school and was often teased about my weight which made growing up incredibly tough.
‘I used to have such a sweet tooth and would be constantly eating sweets and chocolate through the day.
‘It would be normal to go through a box of celebrations in one sitting which I hardly recognise in myself anymore as I’m not a sofa slob anymore.’
She had a revelation to make a positive change after opening a sharing bag of Haribo Star Mix last April.
At her heaviest, Emily weighed 20st and was often teased about her weight at school. The student has lost8st so far, and said her life has been ‘totally transformed’
Emily said: ‘ I was sat on the sofa enjoying a film and was about to eat this sharing bag of sweets like I usually would, and something inside me just said that I cannot continue to do this.
‘From that moment on I decided to change my life and become the person I knew I could be.’
Before her weight loss journey, Emily was diagnosed in 2016, with a with a rare brain condition called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension.
Emily’s diet before
Breakfast: 2 slices of toast, sausages, ベーコン, mushrooms and croissants
Lunch: Sharing bags of Haribo, tubs of Celebrations and sugary drinks like Fanta and Coca Cola.
Dinner: Creamy pasta dishes with lots of bread
Snacking: Sweets, chocolate and pastries
Emily’s diet now
Breakfast: 100g of yoghurt, 150g of frozen fruit and a banana
Lunch: Porridge or a cereal bar
Dinner: 200g of chicken with either salad or root vegetables.
Snacking: Healthy options like a piece of fruit

The condition often meant that Emily was bed bound whilst recovering from surgery, and had major setbacks in her college education and also left her dream of going to university in the balance.

‘I was also diagnosed with a chronic illness known as Fibromyalgia in 2018 and suffer with debilitating pain as a result of this.
‘I had to miss vital time in school and began eating more to overcompensate for this.
Emily said she wants to inspire others by showing how she’s transformed her life and overcome the health struggles she’s been through

The glamorous student said that she no longer suffers from mood swings since taking control of her health
‘Food became a comfort in everything for me during this time and became my stress relief but was also impacting my health significantly.’
Her health issues and weight gain had a drastic affect on all areas of her life.
Emily explained: ‘ I was severely isolated from all of my friends, I was severely unhappy, I was aggressive, emotional and had terrible mood swings.
‘My journey did not just help with my weight but has also changed me into a completely different person from how I was when I was at my heaviest.
‘Mentally I have never been in a better place.’

Emily contacted her consultant at The 1:1 Diet last April and hasn’t looked back since.

‘In the year that I have been following the plan, I have lost 8st so far and my life has totally transformed.
‘I can happily say I am a more outgoing, adventurous, and exciting woman to be around. I no longer feel like I do not fit in and my confidence in all aspects of my life are through the roof.’
Emily’s diet before and after has drastically changed in order to fit her new healthy lifestyle.
Before her weight loss, Emily admits she was aggressive, emotional and had terrible mood swings, and was isolated from her friends. Now she feels ‘outgoing, adventurous, and exciting’ and no longer fears that she doesn’t fit in
彼女は付け加えた: ‘Before, I was eating a full English breakfast most days followed by loads of sweets on the run up to lunch, which would usually leave me so full of sugar that I wouldn’t eat a normal lunch, and at dinner I was eating loads of bread with creamy pastas.
‘Nowadays, I weigh out my breakfast and have 100 grams of yoghurt with 150 grams of frozen fruit and a banana.
‘For lunch I typically have either porridge or a cereal bar, followed by a dinner or 200g of chicken served with salad or root vegetables.’
Emily also ensures she is drinking a litre of water with every meal.

彼女は付け加えた, ‘ It is really important to drink throughout the day and I always ensure I am drinking at least three litres a day, split between each meal.
‘My body does not retain water well with my condition, so this is one of the most important aspects for me.’
Throughout the process of losing weight, Emily’s friends and family were also incredibly supportive of her decisions.

‘I also started documenting my weight loss through social media and receive messages of support daily which really helped to keep me going on my journey.
‘I have built amazing friendships with other people who are struggling with weight loss and find that more and more people found my story inspiring, so I wanted to share my journey and how I have transformed my life and overcome the struggles I have had.’
Emily thinks that anyone looking to lose weight like her should ensure they are doing it for themselves and not for anyone else.
