The Jefferson County school district announced on September 23 that students will no longer be allowed to bring backpacks to school or carry them around hallways after a 13-year-old at Rigby Middle School was discovered to have brought a gun inside her backpack that day.

The new rule hasn’t been taken well by students, who have mocked it by finding creative and ridiculous way to tote around their belongings, carrying books inside everything from wagons to an aquarium.

EastIdahoNews.com reported on last Thursday’s gun threat, writing that a 13-year-old girl was taken into custody after being found with the gun in the bathroom, having brought it to school in her backpack.

    No shots were fired.

그날 늦게, Monica Pauley, a spokeswoman for Jefferson School District 251, told the outlet that the district was insituting a new ban on backpacks in response.

The rule applies to two local middle schools and two local high schools, though the elementary schools are exempt.

‘We are doing this as a precautionary measure,’ 그녀가 말했다.

But left without a way to carry all of their books, binders, notebooks, and others supplies to and from school — and from class to class — students at Rigby High School have found creative ways to get around the ban.

Savannah Bagley, a student at Rigby High, has shared videos on TikTok demonstrating her classmatesingenuity.

Bagley filmed them in the hallways and cafeteria, showing the myriad ways students found to lug around their books while mocking the administration.

One pushed supplies in a children’s Fisher-Price shopping cart, while another used an actual grocery store shopping cart.

One girl literally tied her books to her back, while another carried them in grocery baskets and wooden crates.

Several dragged around hampers and laundry baskets, wagons, and in one case, an organizer cart.

But certainly the most outrageous methods students found to carry their books were inside a popcorn machine, an aquarium, a wheeled cooler, a microwave, and a pink child’s stroller.
