Wel, there are laughs in The Shrink Next Door but they’re of the distinctly nervous variety because this is a disturbing series – based on a true story.

Ferrell plays Marty Markowitz, a well-off New Yorker, wie, in 1982, struggles to cope after his parents’ deaths.

Yet the predatory Herschkopf is a ninja-level master of passive aggression, and the series tells how the devious shrink comes to isolate Marty from his family and friends and exploit him financially over three decades.
