  • Here we reveal our pick of the ranking, with the full list presented at the very bottom of the article
  • If the best won’t do for a hotel room, if only the best of the best will cut the mustard, look no further.

Lifestyle magazine Elite Traveler has drawn up a list of the 100 best hotel suites in the world for 2022, suites where luxury is taken to the next level and beyond.

The ranking includes a £22,000-a-night suite in Paris that features an exact replica of a bed in Marie Antoinette’s quarters, lodges set on an eroded volcanic crater in Rwanda, a room in a Scottish hotel described as an ‘opulent extravaganza’ and a four-floor chalet in Colorado costing a cool £33,000 ($45,500) a night.

This year, though, eco-credentials have been taken into account.

Elite Traveler says: ‘Only the very best have been selected for our annual Top 100 Suites – as featured in the print edition of Elite Traveler. This year, our criteria has been more selective than ever. Not just the grandest, most luxurious suites in the world are making the cut, but those that also have inspiring initiatives in place – from employee volunteer programs and community outreach to eco-friendly, sustainable practices.’
