    Posting to Mumsnet on Boxing Day, the woman asked: ‘Is this present having a dig at me?’

    ‘Don’t really see partner’s mother since Covid as she lives a couple of hours away and she never travels. Previously it was small talk every few months.

    ‘She came for Christmas lunch and this was my present. Am I being unreasonable in thinking she is fat-shaming me?

    ‘When ever she sees her slightly overweight son she makes comments about how he looks pregnant. I used to run a lot. I don’t now.
