Woman was ‘raped by up to four men’ in a Birmingham strip club as one man is arrested before being released and council revokes club’s licence
Police are investigating reports that a woman was ‘raped by up to four men’ at a strip club in Birmingham op Sondag.
The Rocket Club on Broad Street was subject to an emergency licence review after a member of the public, not believed to be the alleged victim, reported the incident to West Midlands Police.
Birmingham City Council removed the strip club’s licence on Thursday during an emergency hearing that was requested by police.
Papers presented at the sub-committee revealed that ‘up to four males’ had been involved in an alleged rape on Sunday, September 26 Birmingham Live berigte.
One man has been arrested and released pending further investigation.

Chief Superintendent Stephen Graham told the council that on Sunday, September 26, a telephone call was made to West Midlands Police reporting that a person had been raped in the Rocket Club.
Councillors took the decision to suspend the nightclub following the hearing, that was held in private for legal reasons.
The sub-committee’s chair, Councillor Nicky Brennan said: ‘Our decision has been to suspend the licence, pending the full review hearing.’
Birmingham City Council told MailOnline the issue was a police matter. West Midlands Police had ‘nothing further to add’ when approached for comment.
